We recently received a list of 1500 local voters who have requested absentee ballots. These are people who had demonstrated a strong inclination to vote. We are planning a mailing to let them know about our Democratic candidates and the initiatives on the ballot.

To get the job done, we’re holding another letter stuffing party on Sunday, September 13, from 1:00pm until 3:00pm in the Sturgeon Room and the Lewiston Community Center, 1424 Main St, Lewiston.

Our tasks will be to:

• Hand address 1500 envelopes
• Add a personal note of encouragement to pre-printed letters
• Stuff the envelope with the letter and a “palm card” with information about local Democratic candidates.
• Seal the envelope

Based on our recent experience with stuffing letters, we know this is an easy, fun activity. It’s a great opportunity for us to let potential voters know about Democrats and how important it is for them to participate in our democracy!

We’ll also have some cold drinks and cookies on hand. Please plan to join us on the 13th.
