Every 1st Monday of the month, we invite a guest speaker(s) to talk about a current topic that impacts our area. Raquel Reyes, Director of Programs and Operations at PODER of Idaho will be sharing the work that PODER is doing to assist our LatinX neighbors. Poder organizes and empowers the Idaho Latinx and immigrant communities for cultural and policy changes. PODER focuses on advocacy across five main issue ares: immigration, economic justice, education, labor, and gender equity. With the current federal policy and bills now being considered in the Idaho legislature, immigration is at the forefront of their efforts.
