Tonight, as Donald Trump delivers his State of the Union address, Americans will be reminded of the promises he’s broken since his last address to Congress.
Instead of making life better for working families, Trump has focused his attention on all the wrong priorities and failed to deliver for the American people. To make matters worse, he’s sold out everyday Americans to pay for massive tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations, spent countless hours on pet projects like his $400 million ballroom renovation, and used taxpayer funds on private jets and investigating his political enemies.
In response, Idaho Democratic Party Chair Lauren Necochea issued the following statement:
“Trump can make any outlandish claims he wants. Idahoans can see he isn’t putting them first. Costs continue to go up, his tariffs are hobbling the economy and job growth has slowed to the lowest level in years. He cuts huge deals for his billionaire donors while millions of Americans see their health care costs explode. The real state of the union is that people are working hard and still falling behind, all while Trump is focused on his ballroom, invading Greenland, and continuing his Epstein file cover-up. It doesn’t have to be this way. Democrats are here to do the job Trump and his Republican Congress won’t: lower costs, protect health care, pursue justice, and put working Idahoans first.”
