In response to news that the private company managing Idaho’s Medicaid mental health benefits plans to cut provider pay by up to 15% following Republican budget holdbacks, Idaho Democratic Party Chair Lauren Necochea issued the following statement:
“Idahoans understand how critical mental health services are. Now the Republican budget mess, which Governor Little has pledged to make permanent, is forcing deep cuts to treatment. Mental health providers will be pushed out of the system and leave families waiting even longer for care, if they can get it at all. This isn’t just careless budgeting, it’s morally wrong.”
