Let’s not just focus on the bad news coming out of this GOP-dominated Legislature.
Sen. Janie Ward-Engelking has taken Ilah Hickman under her wing and is helping push forward Ilah’s three-year quest to name an Idaho State Amphibian. They passed a milestone this week, according to Sen. Ward-Engelking’s Facebook post:
“Some VERY good news to end our week: 13-year-old Ilah Hickman’s Giant Salamander Bill (SB 1271) was overwhelmingly passed out of Senate State Affairs! #GreatJob Ilah!”
Great news, indeed!
Thank you, Ilah, for participating in our democracy.
Thank you, Sen. Ward-Engelking, for taking an active interest in our young people. They are our future.
