Idaho is one of the worst states to be a renter

Together, we can change that

REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS

ARE WORKING AGAINST IDAHO RENTERS AND FAMILIES

  • Stopped cities from requiring landlords to treat all tenant applicants equally and fairly

  • Blocked efforts to cap late fees

  • Refused to invest in affordable housing, which helps renters

DEMOCRATIC LEGISLATORS

HAVE HELPED IDAHO RENTERS AND FAMILIES

  • Passed legislation to require that fees landlords charge are reasonable and laid out in the lease in advance

  • Passed the Fair Warning Act, requiring 30 days notice before a rent increase

  • Secured $15 million in renter protection relief during the COVID-19 pandemic

  • Fought to secure a renter’s right to a walk-through before a landlord can seize the security deposit, but blocked by Republican politicians

  • Passed a law to give renters a second chance to find a home after an eviction
