The IDP internship program is designed to give politically inclined students a well-rounded political experience. We at the IDP are committed to partnering with all of our interns to ensure they make the connections they need to be successful in any of the following areas:
- Political employment
- Running for office
- Issue based advocacy
- Moving on to grad school or out of state opportunities
Description:
During your time as an intern for the IDP you will learn valuable skills that are useful as you continue your political career. You will work closely with one IDP staff to increase voter outreach, organize data, and help elect Democrats up and down the ballot. Some of the skills you will acquire as an intern include but are not limited to:
- Mastering political database tools such as NGP and Votebuilder
- Effectively communicate to a wide range of Idaho voters, candidates, and volunteers
- Organize detailed voter data efficiently and accurately
- Assist in the operation and planning of fundraising events
Aid party staff and leadership in completing time sensitive and challenging projects
Starting in the Spring of 2022 we will be hiring two interns. We will hire one intern in the Development (Fundraising and Events) Department and another intern in our Communications Department. Please let us know in your application what field you would prefer to work in.
Qualifications:
- Motivated and hardworking
- Willing to learn new things and be challenged
- Currently enrolled in a college or university
- An interest and desire to learn about our local political system and how the state party operates
Compensation:
- 12$/hr (the starting compensation is $12/hr but if you continue after March 13th then the hourly wage will increase to $15/hr)
- This internship is part-time and up to 10 hours per week
- Must be located in Boise and willing to work in person at our downtown office
