Jack Nelsen has started looking out for his interests, not Idaho families.
Jack Nelsen campaigned as a moderate but when it matters most, we can’t count on him. Now seeking reelection, he wants us to ignore his voting record.
From refusing to stand up for our reproductive freedoms to sponsoring legislation that would strip farmworkers and others of their right to hold pesticide manufacturers accountable, Jack Nelsen has shown where his loyalties lie.
Take a look at what your state representative has been up to...
RIPPED REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOMS AWAY FROM IDAHO WOMEN
- Jack Nelsen supported a law restricting some out-of-state travel for abortions.
- Jack Nelsen refuses to stand up to his fellow Republicans in the Idaho Legislature and demand that they reverse their abortion ban, which is so extreme that Idaho women are being air-lifted out of state for emergency pregnancy complications.
IN HIS OWN WORDS…
- “I’ve milked a few cows, spent most of my time walking behind lines of cows, so if you want some ideas on repro and the women’s health thing, I have some definite opinions.”
THREATENS BALLOT ACCESS, ESPECIALLY FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS
- Jack Nelsen voted for voter ID restrictions, which now prevent using Idaho-issued student photo IDs at the polls, making it harder for students to vote.
- Jack Nelsen voted for a new law that criminalizes ballot delivery, preventing legally cast ballots from being counted.
LEAVES WORKING FAMILIES BEHIND
- Jack Nelsen voted to overturn commonsense protections for renters like requiring landlords to have a vacant property if they collect rental application fees.
- Jack Nelsen sided with corporations rather than farmers and workers when he sponsored legislation to give pesticide manufacturers — even those run by adversarial foreign governments — immunity if their products harm Idahoans.
ATTACKS OUR LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY
- Jack Nelsen voted for a law that imprisons doctors for providing evidence-based gender affirming that parents used to be able to choose for their kids.
- Jack Nelsen made it legal for teachers and police officers to deliberately discriminate against the transgender Idahoans they are supposed to be serving in their jobs.
