The Frank and Bethine Church Gala isn’t all fun and games; Idaho Dems conduct business too.
Top IDP news item has to be the election of 2014 Idaho Dem Governor candidate A.J. Balukoff as the IDP State Treasurer. Balukoff stepped up after IDP’s long-time treasurer, Susan Eastlake, decided take retirement more seriously. Eastlake has been a stabilizing force and vital to IDP’s growth. Still, with Balukoff, who Eastlake nominated, our party is replacing excellence with excellence.
The second top news item is that Nez Perce County came out the victor in a friendly but pitched competition to host the 2015 IDP Fall Central Committee meeting. Lewiston will be the setting for this important Idaho Dem event.
Other elections of IDP officers included Region 1 Rep. Ken Meyers, of Sandpoint; Region 2 Rep. Pete Gertonson, of Winchester; Region 3 Rep. Chelsea Goana-Lincoln of Caldwell; Region 4 Reps. Marilyn Arp of McCall and Joan Wallace of Garden City; Region 5 Rep. Leroy Hayes of Twin Falls; Region 6 Rep. Steve Stalcup of Soda Springs.
