Idaho Democratic Party—Moving Forward

Boise— The Idaho Democratic Party announced today the adoption of their 2012 Delegate Selection Plan.  The adoption of the plan passed by unanimous consent in a special Central Committee held, Sunday, May 1, 2011.

The 2012 Idaho Democratic Caucus will be open to all individuals who are or will be qualified to vote in the general election in Idaho on November 6, 2012.  The plan lays out the process that begins at the county level where Delegates will be elected and eligible to run as National Delegates at the Idaho Democratic Party State Convention on June 10, 2012.  National Delegates will then be selected and eligible to attend the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC where they will officially nominate the US Presidential candidate.

In 2008 each of Idaho’s 44 counties held its own caucus.  Attendance statewide exceeded 22,000, which set a new attendance record for the Idaho Democratic Party.  “It was an exciting process that attendee’s and organizer’s were proud to be a part of. We are anticipating another high turnout in 2012 and are excited to be preparing for the Presidential election.” said Executive Director, Shelley Landry.
