Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates is hosting a rally to show support for emergency abortion care provided under EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act). Following the rally, we will hold a banner signing to demonstrate SE Idaho’s support for emergency abortion access. Later that week, the Supreme Court will hear a case brought by the Department of Justice and the outcome will determine if providers can fully do their jobs and protect the lives of Idahoans in emergency situations. Idaho’s total abortion ban prohibits hospital doctors from complying with federal requirements to provide stabilizing treatment, even where a doctor determines that abortion is the medical treatment necessary to prevent a patient from suffering severe health risks or even death. Let’s show the Supreme Court that Idahoans will not watch as their rights are further stripped away. RSVP that you’ll join us today!
