District 17 is planning to host a fun cocktail party (well, wine and craft beer party) on August 28. We don’t have an exciting name for it yet, but I couldn’t wait to tell you about it. Boise Mayor Lauren McLean and Terri Pickins, 2024 candidate for Idaho Governor, will be our speakers, and you know they are both great. The theme of the party will be to meet your Boise City Council candidates. We are inviting all the Democratic candidates for City Council to come. We’ll be introducing them by district, and you’re going to have plenty of time to mix and mingle with them. Social time starts at 6:30, speakers at 7:00, and more social time until 9:00.

Venue is the newly remodeled Lounge at the End of the Universe located in the Gem Center for the Arts just off Vista. We will have lovely piano background music, a beautiful giant charcuterie board, and one glass of wine or craft beer included with your ticket. Oh, and the ubiquitous silent auction. Tickets will be $40.00. We’ll be setting up online ticket sales with Act Blue in the next couple of days
