Role at IDP: Engage, retain and recruit Democratic supporters, maintain/train on statewide voter database, work with campaigns, county organizations and activists on marketing, targeting and outreach, build partnerships with key constituency groups on mutual policies and issues, and execute voter mobilization campaigns to maximize resources and progressive turnout.

Professional Experience: After receiving his Political Science degree in 2009, Tom developed his skills as the Northern Nevada Regional Field Director with Organizing for America for 2 years. There Tom developed a commitment to grassroots organizing and a passion for data-driven, modern campaigning. He relocated to Boise when he became Nicole Lefavour’s Congressional Field Director in August of 2012. Like many, he found Idaho a welcoming place and even more importantly he realized that people here are eager to be part of a grassroots effort to improve their state. In 2013 Tom co-managed Boise Greater Auditorium District’s successful campaign as well as the Yes! Yes! Boise Bond campaign. Tom joined the IDP staff in 2014 and is excited to continue finding ways for our volunteers to make a difference and grow into a more organized, more effective force for change.

Personal Notes: Tom’s early life was split between Reno, Nevada and Las Vegas. While growing up he experienced equal parts privilege and adversity and developed an early understanding that we need to create more opportunity for people to reach their potential. When he isn’t running campaigns or volunteering on them, you’ll find Tom doing something on the nerdy side. While he occasionally gets out for a game of tennis, Tom is much more likely to be found playing table games with some friends or sitting down with a new video game.
