Tom Sullivan “Dominated the debate…The Debate was absolutely remarkable”

Idaho Democrat Tom Sullivan traded barbs on October 12 in a healthy debate against incumbent Senator Mike Crapo in what has been described by Randy Stapilus of Ridenbaugh Press as “absolutely remarkable”, and “maybe the most powerful challenger’s debate by a Democratic major office candidate we’ve seen in years.”

The irony of the title of the article, “If you’re not going to win…” is apparent, when in one breath the election is declared pre-destined but in the next Stapilus reports, “Sullivan, while keeping his cool, dominated the debate against one of Idaho’s most experienced and well-liked politicians.”

To be fair, the respected journalist noted that “Sullivan didn’t make every point perfectly [but]…he skillfully constructed an argument that sliced into important parts of Crapo’s talking points and exposed some of the problems with them.”

A review of the debate proves a healthy and real ideological debate exists in Idaho, and underscores the nation wide vulnerability of incumbent politicians in a season when voters are seeking accountability for double-digit unemployment, explosive national debt and Wallstreets successful wrecking of the middle-class America.
