Idaho Democrats looking for organizers & canvassers

Do you want to make a difference in this year’s election? The Idaho Democratic Party is looking for motivated and enthusiastic people to work as organizers and canvassers who enjoy participating in elections and communicating with voters.

Organizers are currently needed in the Lewiston-Moscow area and the Coeur d’Alene area. These are temporary, full-time positions. Some experience with campaigns is preferred. Organizers will be working with a top-tier congressional campaign, gubernatorial campaign, and other state and local campaigns. Compensation is commensurate with experience and skill level. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Recruiting, training and managing volunteers
  • Managing paid canvassers in the region
  • Building and managing volunteer canvasses and call centers
  • Meeting daily and weekly volunteer recruitment goals
  • Meeting daily and weekly supporter identification goals
  • Persuading voters to support our candidates
  • Managing Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) efforts in your region, with paid staff and volunteers
  • Accurately collecting, tracking and reporting data
  • Outreach to constituency groups, democratic clubs and organizations

Canvassers are currently needed in Ada County, Canyon County, Lewiston, Moscow and Coeur d’Alene. These are temporary, part-time positions. No prior campaign experience is necessary but canvassers will be expected to provide their own reliable transportation. Compensation is $10/hour for up to 25 hours/week. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Being professional and courteous at all times, including appropriate dress.
  • Having a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Delivering our candidates’ message to the voter at the door.
  • Being goal-oriented and accurately recording results. We have many voters to contact over a short period of time so canvassers will be accountable for firm goals and deadlines.
  • Canvassers will need to provide their own reliable transportation.
  • Anticipated canvas days and times are:
  • Monday thru Thursday: 4:00 – 8:00pm
  • Saturday: 11:00am – 5:00pm
  • Sunday: 12:00noon – 5:00pm
