Idaho GOP politicians refuse to extend healthcare to 78,000 working-poor Idahoans who cannot afford it–it’s a policy called “Close the Gap.”
It would save county tax payers millions of dollars–and the GOP politicians who oppose this know it.
It would save Idaho families from attending hundreds of funerals–and the GOP politicians who oppose this know it.
So why do they refuse to make good policy the Idaho would benefit from? Who cares! Their reasons are ALL driven by craven, far-right politics. They need to go!
In the meantime, the Legislature is “studying” the issue more! AGAIN! Please let them know, AGAIN, that it is high time Idaho “Close the Gap.”
A call to action by the workers at AFL-CIO:
The Idaho legislature is taking public comment at the September 28th Healthcare Alternatives Workgroup meeting.
They will be listening to public comment from 1:15 to 3:15pm, September 28th at the Idaho State Capitol, Room WW17 (Garden Level). All 40 slots for testimony are taken but it is important to fill the room (and hopefully forcing an overflow room) to show broad, public support for this issue!
There are two ways you can help:
1) Show up to the meeting! One of the most powerful tools we have is the power of the people. Turnout on this day could help tip us over the edge to meet our goal.
1) Email EBowen@lso.idaho.gov and request to testify at the meeting. All slots are filled but this is a great way to show that there is public interest closing the gap!
