Today on the House Floor, 45 GOP Representatives voted to restrict early voting.
Rep. Manwaring’s (R-Pocatello) bill will regulate early voting across the entire state. The bill would require all counties in the state to adopt the same early voting timeline instead of leaving it up to local election boards. If the Governor signs this bill, County Clerks will have the ability to restrict early voting to just ONE week before Election Day. If this is really about “uniformity,” then why don’t we expand the timelines instead of limiting access to the polls?
Contact your Representative and tell them that this is not acceptable. Idaho’s voting laws are some of the least restrictive in the nation. Why does the Idaho GOP want to roll that back?
